“You sleep when the baby sleeps!”
I totally thought that would be exactly how it would go down once Wyatt was here but it actually hasn’t been that way at all! Luckily, Wyatt is doing a great job sleeping at least 3-4 hour stretches at night which allows for me and Papa Bear to get some good rest. It’s the strangest thing, I thought I would be completely exhausted from waking up to feed him throughout the night but I find myself having more and more energy every day. Someone told me it’s all the adrenaline of being a new mom? I’m not sure but I’ll take it! Something I am learning though as a new mom is that time is of the essence! Everything needs to be done at warp speed (oh my gosh today my hubby came home and told me to take some time for myself and I took the absolute longest shower I could it was glorious.)
With that sentiment in mind, I have come to appreciate my crockpot so much more over the last couple weeks!
Today while my little bear napped I was able to get a lot done around the house! This next photo is probably unnecessary but I felt that I had to share it because like…look at this child.
Anywho, I got some laundry done, cleaned out our “junk drawer”, and started some Hawaiian Chicken in my crockpot! This is legit the easiest thing to make and has so much flavor. This version is made with low-sugar BBQ sauce and brown rice because ya’ girl is workin’ on this body but you can use any type of rice and BBQ sauce you’d like!
It took me all of 10 minutes to get this together in the crockpot and it requires so little in terms of ingredients.
Crockpot Hawaiian Chicken:
4 Chicken Breasts
1 Bag of Frozen Pineapple
1 Jar of BBQ Sauce (I used G Hughes Smokehouse Sugar-Free BBQ Sauce from Walmart but use any kind you’d like!)
1 TBSP Onion Powder
1 TBSP Garlic Powder
1/2 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Pepper
Brown Rice
Recipe:
Step 1
Toss all that ‘ish into the crockpot and mix it together
Step 2
Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours
Step 3
Pull out the chicken and shred or chop it up, return it to the crockpot and mix it all together again
Step 4
Serve over rice!
HINT HINT HINT: If you don’t want to be scrubbing your crockpot for hours on end to get that sticky, now probably rock hard BBQ sauce out…get and use a crockpot liner! They sell these on the same aisle as sandwich bags and stuff.

Oh nice! I will be saving up that recipe 😃 And yea, I can see why you shared the picture😉 Wyatt is adorable
For some reason I got a thing for salmon going on so I do anything with that but my favorite is Salmon Teriyaki over rice 😀
I can also relate to all that energy, I was very energetic at first than I had this two weeks where I was very exhausted but now I am back to determination and lots of energy during the day, but by the time my hubby comes home and we eat dinner all I want to do is sleep 😃
