Hey girl hey! I don’t know, it just feels like I haven’t said that in a while. Anyway, for those of you who don’t already know, I have been a Mario Badescu skincare line fanatic for years now. Don’t get me wrong, it is still my tried and true but for the last month I have been using the Botanics Brightening “All Bright” Cleansing Foam Wash and the Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream with SPF 15 as the main part of my daily skincare routine and I think I have found…the other woman…in my skincare life, haha.
I recently discovered this plant-based skincare line at Target and I am so happy that I did. It is incredibly comparable to Mario Badescu in terms of quality and price. But honestly, I think I’ve made the switch to Botanics as my go-to skincare line because I have had amazing results especially with the lotions/creams. I have never had the best luck with Mario lotions/creams, they are always way to greasy for my combo skin.
Any time I try out a new skincare line that I plan on telling you all about I always give it a fair test so that I can give you all an honest review. Remember, I will NEVER recommend something to you unless I am actively using it or loving it. I have been using the Botanics Brightening “All Bright” Cleansing Foam Wash and the Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream with SPF 15 for about a month now and I can honestly say my skin is probably the best it has looked since I was pregnant (you know, that glowing skin nonsense, haha). Keep in mind too, a little of each of these products goes a longgg way, I am not even halfway through either of these products and I use each of them every day, the cleanser I use twice daily.
I also have super weird skin and it reacts differently to different product formulas, which I guess is pretty normal. The reason I have stuck with Mario for so long is because I knew how the formula reacted with my skin and I never had any issues (don’t get me wrong, I still don’t). Now that I have tried out the cleanser and cream formulas from Botanics, I will move on to testing out the night creams and serums which I am very excited about. The product line is HUGE and I really love that they are plant-based and all natural.
Now, let’s get to how many coins you’re going to be shelling out for this stuff. The price point is INCREDIBLY low for, in my opinion, the quality of product and results I have had. The lotions/creams/serums are on the higher end which is normal for most skincare lines. The cleansers though are not bad at all, I would say price point is very similar to most drugstore cleansers. Just for reference, the Botanics Brightening Cleanser is only $5.99 and the Botanics Shine Away Day Cream is $13.99.
If you are looking for a natural, plant-based skincare line or even just a simple cleanser, Botanics has my stamp of approval! Next up I will be trying out some night creams and serums and I will definitely bring you my review on those as well!
