This is a post I have been wanting to put together for sooo long now and am finally getting around to getting it up for you! As most of you know, my sister is a licensed cosmetologist and amazing makeup artist. She always clues me into the best brands, products, and always steers me in the right direction when it comes to what expensive makeup is worth it and what is not. So, I am here today to share with you some of the best dupes I have found for some luxury brand makeup products I have used.
Keep in mind, a lot of the time you are mostly paying for the name tag. You are paying for the logo. If that wasn’t the case then my Tarte Face Tape foundation would perform better than my drugstore Maybelline Superstay foundation…it does not. So, for the last couple months I have been doing my research and trying out some drugstore beauty products to see how they compare to some of the luxury brands I have used in the past! So, without further ado, let’s jump into some beauty dupes!
THE BEAUTY BREAKDOWN
The Flower Beauty Sponge is super comparable to the classic Beauty Blender mostly because of how soft and bouncy the sponge gets when it gets wet. A lot of drugstore sponges tend to stay really hard when they get wet and that makes it hard to apply foundation evenly.
These Tatcha dupes are insaaaanely amazing. This primer dupe is by far my absolute favorite dupe in this list. The E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer is hands down the closest luxury brand dupe on this list. The only thing I would say it does not have when compared to the Tatcha primer is the smell (seriously, if you ever get a chance pop into a Sephore and smell it. It just smells like money). Jeffree Star is who turned me on to this dupe! He talked about it on his YouTube channel and the product sold out for MONTHS. I actually had to sign up on E.L.F.com to be notified when it was available again. A lot of drugstores still don’t have it, but it is available online! It is the perfect mix of a silicone primer and a more sticky primer, it’s perfect. Speaking of skincare and also Tatcha, the Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser is fantastic. It is a super close dupe to the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse exfoliator in smell, texture, and amount of exfoliant in the scrub.
I have been using the Maybelline 24-Hour Super Stay Foundation for at least three months now and I haven’t felt the need to spend extra bucks on luxury brand foundation since I started using it. Liquid foundation was always my biggest beauty splurge so this was a huge find for me.
Now to the eyes! I only used a sample size of the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara for about two weeks and that was after I had been using the Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara for months. Honestly, I didn’t see that my lashes looked any better with the Benefit Roller Lash so I switched back. I super short, shitty little lashes so this stuff is amazing. For the brows, my favorite dupe is for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade is the Milani Stay Put Brow Color. It is slightly more oil-based than the ABH Dipbrow but still has fantastic color.
And finally, to my ride or die, tried and true bronzer. The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is an outstanding duper for the suuuuper popular Marc Jacobs Tantastic Coconut Bronzer. It is so buttery smooth and has that same coconut, tropical smell to it exactly like the Tantastic.
Well, there you go ladies! I hope you enjoyed this post and I can’t wait to hear if any of you already use some of these products. If not, definitely check some of these out!
